SOURCE: Film advance lever and shutter release button are "stuck"

No, it is not the battery. My guess is that the film leader did not stay in the take-up spool and is now bunched up around it. Try rewinding the film carefully as you normally would but remember that you are only rewinding a small portion of the length. You can even just open the film door and start over. You will only loose 3 or 4 frames on the roll.

SOURCE: I have an old Asahi Pentax, release lever and shutter are stuck.

The Pentax is a easy fix, maybe.. If you feel comfortable removing the bottom cover, then remove the 3 cross point screws. The battery, if installed will be loose. Looking at the bottom section of the camera, locate the tripod socket. On on side is the battery compartment, the other an L shaped lever. Under the L shaped lever is a brass plate with a slot in it. In that slot is another lever that has a spring going through the end eyelet. Move that lever toward the front of the camera until it latches on the L shaped lever above. Then try the release.

The first thing to try on the X700 is fresh batteries. Clean the battery cap and contacts with a pencil eraser.

The camera will not take the picture

Need more info. What is the camera not doing? Does the auto focus work? Are the batteries good. Are the shutter blades in place? Sometimes when loading film a person will push down to smooth film and the force will go through the film and pop the shutter blades out of position. Remove the lens and gently lift the mirror with your finger nail. The blades should lie flat.

I have a Minolta XG-A camera, and i can take a picture but the shutter is stuck?

My shutter does that when there is low light, or just slow shutter speed. You could try changing those settings, otherwise, last time mine got stuck, I loosened a screw on the bottom right under the shutter release button and the shutter just snapped back into its place.

I just bought a Minolta maxxum QTsi from a lady and it had no manual with it, I can't figure out how to load the film. Can you take me step by step on how to load the film and how the camera works when...

Hi, I've found the instruction manual online for you, http://www.mediacollege.com/equipment/manual/konica-minolta/camera/maxxum-qtsi.pdf that way you have it for future reference. For loading film you open up the back of the camera and make sure that the end of the roll of film is aligned with a red mark and then you close the back. For taking pictures you press the shutter button half way in order for it to focus, when the image you want is framed you press the shutter button the entire way and it'll take the photo.

35mm Minolta camera has shudder issues

Depending on what model Minolta this is. Goggle camera repairing and see whats out there for your model camera. Some have a focal plane shutter which is worth repairing. The rest are not worth it. Focal plane shutters are made of rubberized cloth

The shuter is jamed.

The first thing to check are the batteries make sure they are good.

Second thing to check, are you at the end of the film?, I have had lots of customers think they have a 36 exp film in the camera, only to find it is a 24 exp running out of film will stop the shutter and winding from re cocking

Third thing to check if the batteries are good is the position of the mirror, if it is stuck in the up position it may be that the shutter has just hung up, this happens when the camera gets a little olde and the grease in the shutter mech dries up and the shutter blinds get a bit stiff.

A shutter overhaul will fix this but you may be able to free up as a temporary measure. Follow the following steps.

1. Remove the film from the camera.
2. Open the back cover.
3. Hold the camera so you are applying a little pressure on the wind on lever.
4. Very gently and slowly press your thumb onto the shutter curtain material about 5-6mm, just enough to apply a little tension to the material but not enough for it to come out of its side locations.

If the shutter has just hung up this extra tension will cause the mirror to come back down and then allow you to carry on winding.

Konica Minolta X-370 Wont develop

Two possibilities : 1 ) your film was not properly loaded into the pick up spool and hence it was transported or exposed ; what you took to the lab was unexposed film. 2) the shutter is not opening and again no exposure takes place. To check this open back , set to slow speed like 8th of a second, and see if the shutter opens and closes properly. If the shutter does not open then it will have to go in, unfortunately. Cost ? If it is just an adjustment ( as I suspect is the case ) you should not pay more than $ 100.

Minolta X370 film loading problem.

First make sure your batteries are OK , camera will not work without two 1.5 v batteries. If your camera still doesnt work this is probably  because the shutter is cocked but you cannot release the shutter and that is why you cannot advance the transport mechanism. The shutter release mechanism needs repairing first. SREMEDY : take bottom cover off ( 4 screws ) and locate 220 mf 6v capacitor ( it is the only one in this part of the camera , cant miss it ). Replace the capacitor while you keep an eye on the polarity ( indicated on the casing of the capacitor ) and you camera should work fine ( dont forget camera needs  two 1.5v  batteries to work ! )
