Make sure that your computer unit is working. Sometimes we suspect that it is a monitor problem but usually, it is a frozen CPU set.
When you turn on the monitor, it should light the blue led and after a while, when it does not receive signal from the CPU, it will turn orange. If that is the case, the monitor is functioning well.
So what could be the problem?
Make sure that you hooked the monitor to the right VGA port. If you have an internal VGA port (built in with the motherboard) and you also have an external Video Card, you should hook it to the external VGA port and not the internal one since it is overridden by default.
Do you hear the "short beep" sound when you boot your PC? That signals a good video system. If you don't hear that beep sound (provided your PC's speakers are okay), you should open your CPU case and try to remove your memory modules (RAM). Clean the pins with an eraser and put it on.
Now, your computer should work fine and so with your monitor.
