You want to use the custom setting on the camera. You can see what the icon looks like and the specifics on page 91 of the PowerShot S5 IS Camera User Guide Advanced version here.
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=223&modelid=15207#DownloadDetailAct

The custom setting will allow you to balance/adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation before you take a picture.

Want to know how to adjust contrast

Very old set--always adjust so contrast not too high--it should always be lower than brightness---say brightness at 75% and contrast lower--if contrast set too high smearing will occur and picture quality will be affected.

Color output not the same as on the screen

If you are using a Windows Platform, in the printer drivers there is an advanced option that will let you
change brightness levels, contrast, saturation, etc.

If its a Mac, you will need to possibly get a Printer Calibration program or try changing the specs within the software. Mac drivers don't necessarily give you the options to change those settings.

Canon Powershot S5 IS. Changed to Windows Vista

I have a Canon Powershot S5 IS. Does anyone know the replacement part number of the LCD Monitor?

I am not sure if the the Screens on E-Bay are the right ones. The placement of the 'ribbon' has me second guessing the accuracy of the items for sale.

How can i change the resolution from low to high?

Change shooting mode dial to the shooting mode you want to use.
> then press Func. button
> Menu will appear.
>use the Scrool up down key to select menu item.
>go to the last item and select L and Fine.
After selecting you can press Func. button again.

This will select the highest resolution possible on this camera...

Poor picture quality

Some one might have messed up with your camera.
some one might have changed the resolution, aperture, manual focus etc of the camera.
Try setting them according to your needs or try resetting the camera.

Need best settings for a Panasonic TH-50PZ85U

As with any display best settings are up to the user.

Some general rules about adjustment of a video display device apply

1. if the display is too bright you would decrease brightness by turning it down
2. if the display is too dark you would increase brightness by turning it up

If a display is too bright it will shorten it's life span so you want to keep the brightness down

Contrast must also be adjusted in the same manor

You should increase color saturation to suit your self

Increasing the color saturation too much will decrease the life of the display and look ugly
so you want to add just enough color to satisfy your taste.

Canon ip3000 Color problem

This is a frequent complaint and only high-end equipment provides the necessary tools to correct the differences between display and printed output.

If the output is otherwise pristine, you can't do much about it, although if there are clear defects (streaks, etc), you might try running the provided cleaning routine on the printhead.

If you play with the brightness and contrast controls of your monitor, you will see that these can influence the color and saturation of what you see and the printer is not capable of seeing the same thing as you.
