My wii system can't connect to my wireless Internet. It has an error code of 51032. What does that mean? It has also been connected to my wireless before, it won't make the connection now

Check to see if your router has a firewall. It might be blocking the signal from the wii. The Wii can't work though firewalls from routers.

Also your router should have something called MAC settings. Get your wii MAC number and add it to your router's list of MAC users. You need to activate your routers MAC settings for this of course. Also any other wireless accessing devices (laptops etc) need to included via there MAC numbers in your routers MAC list.

I use a LINKSYS WRT54g2 so my info above should help.

I want to connect a Scientific-Atlanta WebSTAR 2000 series Cable Modem to a Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G wireless router but the linksys doesnt detect the modem and the computer wont let the setup program for...

Most Cable Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use Media Access Control (MAC) Address authentication to establish Internet connection for end-users. MAC address is a unique identifier assigned to the network adapter/s of the computer.
To set up your Linksys router to work with a Cable ISP, you have to enable the MAC Clone feature of the router. MAC Cloning is a procedure which enables a router to copy the MAC address of the computer that's registered with the ISP.
To setup a Linksys router with Cable connection you need to perform four steps using the computer that's been registered with the ISP:
i. Verifying Internet Connection
ii. Connecting Devices Together
iii. Checking the Router's LEDs
iv. Configuring a Linksys Router for a Cable Internet Connection

Need to mate my rotor with my cable internet

You need to get to the web configuration page of your router and clone the MAC address of your modem. It's because cable internet providers uses MAC address of a device to be able to connect to their server.

You can follow this manual to access the web configuration tool and look for the topic MAC Cloning Address.

http://downloads.linksysbycisco.com/downloads/WRT54GL-EU_11_UG_A-WEB.pdf

If in some case, your internet didn't work after connecting the router and after cloning the MAC address of your modem. Try to turn off your modem and disconnect everything from there, turn off your router as well and disconnect everything. Wait for 1 minute and plug the power cord back to your cable modem and plug the ethernet cable. Wait for 1 minute, turn reconnect everything to your router to the modem, and Clone the MAC address again.

Hope this helps.

I have two pc's they were networked together and the mediacom line got cut after that my second pc cannot get online and if the first will not if i use the router. help netgear wants $100.00 to help

Some cable companies register your computers MAC address and only allow that address to connect. If this is the case, then try setting the router's MAC address to the MAC address of the computer that can connect.

DL 524 router with a mac

When you connect the MAC to the router with the CAT 5 cable it works , that means the wired connection of the router is working but the wireless is not working.
You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the cable ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router and open the set up page of the router.

I have the same problem too

Try this procedure:

To Spoof a MAC Address
  1. Connect the computer that your ISP's installers used to establish Internet connection to the router. If you are unsure which computer was used, call your ISP, and ask what MAC address was registered. Then, using the instructions in the box below find the computer whose MAC address matches their records.
  2. Disconnect other computers from the router.
  3. (If you do not want to disconnect other computers, you need to know the adapter's MAC address, as described in the box below. Then, in step 6, type Use This MAC Address, entering the adapter's address.)
  4. In an Internet browser type the address 192.168.0.1.
  5. Type admin for the username, password for the password, and click OK.
  6. Go to the Basic Settings > Router Mac Address.
  7. Select Use Computer MAC Address.
  8. Click Apply. This automatically gives the router the computer's MAC address.
  9. Click Test to make sure you are connected. If you are not connected, contact your ISP.

Problems adding new MAC address

Ok... this is an easy fix..first, turn off all the equipment including any laptops with wi-fi. then TURN ON YOUR MAIN ROUTER FIRST. Secondly turn on the cable modem..be sure its connected to the already turned on router. This will establish the router as your address the cable modem will set up as the main mac address. Then go ahead and boot up any other routers, and computers and wifi... That should keep everything connected because the router will delegate all the addresses to everything and the modem should remain "happy" with the router addres..

Let me know if this helps... and if you need anymore help.

Acquiring network address

From the PC you are trying to connect to your wireless router LAN there are two possible causes of these problem.

1. No DHCP Server Available.
2. You are using MAC Filters and the MAC is not defined in the router configuration.

Please verify this and you can easily get through it.

DHCP can be configured over your wireless router also incase you don't have DHCP Servers in your LAN / WAN. Other wise you can go for manual IP addresses.

Internet wireless connectivity

This is a common and annoying problem. Your router is running and connected, but they are either not using the same encryption keys or else you have some other setting incorrect (encryption type is a common one).

Turn off the laptop's wireless connection and enable its cable (wired) connection. Connect the laptop to the back of the router physically with a network cable. In a browser type 192.168.1.1 (or other similar number - check your router's quick start guide). Log into the router and go to the WIRELESS SETTINGS. Write down everything you see (channel, station ID, encryption type and key, and whether MAC ADDRESS LOCKING is on (if it is turn it off for now)). Take these settings, reverse the process on your laptop and try to connect wirelessly with the new settings. They have to be exactly the same

If it all works, you need to go back into the router and enable MAC ADDRESS LOCKING after giving it your laptop's MAC ADDRESS, enable the highest standard encryption both the router and the laptop support, and turn off station ID broadcasting if possible.

If you still cannot connect wirelessly, connect again through the wire connection, and turn off encryption, turn off MAC ADDRESS LOCKING, and try again.

Good luck...
