Turn fan on manually to check if it is the remote
If the fan does not start at all
1.Check circuit fuses or breakers.
2. Check line wire connections to the fan and switch wire connections in the switch housing.
Make sure main power is off while doing this.
If the remote is broken (test different batteries) you can get a replacement here.

unplug the fan then remove the batteries from the remote then plug the fan back in and, reinstall the batteries; this resets the fan control

There is no switch or cord for either the fan or the light. I looked all over the whole unit.
