Chassis intrusion can be disabled one of two ways.

First, Check your bios settings. There should be a security or PC health section where you can clear that error and disable the intrusion warning.

Second, there is likely a small switch near the chassis side when the side panel is removed. This is the chassis intrusion switch. It will likely lead to a 2 or 3-pin connection on the motherboard. this can be disconected without any ill effects.

ASUS P5VD2-VM SE MOTHERBOARD

If you purchased this motherboard recently then i would double check your power supply - get a better power supply and try that - think you may need one with two 12 volt rails.

If that does not work then I would get it RMA'd as in return it and get a replacement.

Chassis Intruded, Fatal Error...System Halted

you need to go into the bios of your pc.....usually pressing the delete key when you see the first logo screen after booting up....look for a section that relates to errors and what the bios is supposed to do when it encounters an error.
i.e if you see a line in the bios that says "halt on all errors" disable it and when you next boot up the bios will not stall.

Error message

There is a micro-switch which detects when you remove the lid.
This can be disabled in the BIOS menu.
Switch on and press F2 or DEL key until you get to BIOS Menu (may ask for password).
Then find security menu and disable intruder alarm enable.
