SOURCE: shinco gps gm-400c screen wont start up

I had the same problem a month ago. I opened up the case and checked for possible connectors which could cause the problem. I believe the rechargeable battery connection was the problem. Unplugged and replugged connection. Unit has been going okay since.

To update your map, you have to enter the Product Authorization Code that came with your device in their website http://www.mapking.com/International/eng/support/registration.html

From there, you will gain access to MapKing's map update service.

You may need to contact technical support if your model is not listed.

It should be possible as long as the map system software is compatible. Best thing to do is to try before buying or have money-back-guarantee.
