Have you set this as an option on the software you are using to print? such as the word processor? Have you tried re-booting the computer and powering down the printer for a few minutes? If these things don't work, you might try doing a reboot of computer to factory settings (from your System Tools) caution -- this wipes out settings of all hardware, then you can set up all of them, and you might find a setting you missed on the printer, or that was set one way on the printer, another way in the software.
the user manual is viewable here. in PDF. I used to be a service tech -- if the feed rollers are spaced in such a way, this size paper Might not be ABLE to be used in such a printer.
The user guide says |"Note Not all paper sizes and paper types are available with all the functionson the HP All-in-One. Some paper sizes and paper types can only be used if
you are starting a print job from the Print dialog box in a software application,
or if you are making a copy. They are not available for printing photos from a
memory card, digital camera, or storage device. Papers that are only available
for printing from a software application are indicated as such."
LOOK AT PG 81/144 -- Looks like it is available, you might need to use cm, instead of inches directions. You might need to do your set-up over.

Hp c6180 won't print from 4x6 photo paper tray

If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray. I hope this helps.

How to load 4X6 photo paper

hi

  • Turn on the Epson 875DC and the attached computer. Make sure the cable between the two devices is securely in place.
  • Step 2 Remove any paper that is in the printer's feeder tray. Place the 4x6 photo paper printable side up in the tray, with the support sheet at the bottom of the stack of photo paper. Adjust the paper guides so they are pressed against the margins of the paper.
  • Step 3 Open the photos to be printed in your computer software program of choice. When you are ready to print the photos, click on the "File" link at the top of the window, then choose "Print." Click on "Properties" and select "4x6" for the paper size and "Photo Paper" under the paper type. Click "OK" to close the "Properties" window, then click "OK" again to print the photos.

How to set for 4x6 photos

Nothing special to set for 4x6, you lust slide the paper guide over to the 4x6 paper and stand the paper up in the paper slot in the back. You have to choose 4x6 print in your printing software window in printing preferences.

When I print pics off my pic file, the pic comes out in a mirror image? I am using a HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One Printer. Also when I try to print 4x6 pics from my files using proper HP paper, it tells...

    Hello,

When you go to print something next time, click on Preferences on the Print window. Click on the Advanced tab. There should be a Mirror Image choice and it probably says ON. Click on the ON and change it to OFF with the drop-down menu. Click OK. That should correct the mirror image problem.

As for the paper, I have a hard time printing on 4X6 paper too. Seems to be a common problem with HP. If you would like to accept the mirror image solution and post a separate on, you should get another expert to help you.

In the meantime I will try to research it further.

    Thanks for using Fixya.

When I print pictures on the 3210 HP all-in-one, they come out very small even though I choose the 4X6 in paper size for the photo tray. I've tried everything I can, but the pictures keep printing wallet...

First thing that comes to mind is that a 4x6" print could print four wallet sized photos; be shure your are not printing more than one copy.

If you are trying to print more than one,it will print the actual picure you have and leave space for the number of other nonexistent prints selected.

See page 75 of the Manual. for directions on how to set up photo printing.

If you have photoshop, you can resize your documents using the menu item, Image / Image size, (Alt + i then i again)

Set the resolution to 300, then the document size width to 6 or 10 inches.

This will guarantee that your document is full size, (though the printer should be able to resize it to fit on the page no matter what).

Give these a try. It's really a shot in the dark, but it's my best guess.

    Cheers.
    Richard.

Will not go to photo tray to print 4X6 picture

This is why Mac's are EVIL!!!! LOL, anyway try using the software, that comes with the printer, and tell it which paper type, and tray to use. Also try printing on a PC, and see if it works then, as you may have to live with this as the solution.
