I have the same problem with this camera....I may just go buy a whole new camera if I can't get it fixed cheap. I went to a dirt race track and it was drizzling. I was able to take pictures all night. When I went to turn the camera on the next day it was kept telling me to turn the power off and then back on. Are there any easy fixes?

Hey I just have the same problem, them recently I very lightly tapped it (against the bottom of the camera, holding it upright) and boom, it works again. See here some other people which did the same and worked:

http://www.camerahacker.com/Forums/DisplayComments.php?file=Digital%20Camera/Sony/dsc-w50_acess.turn_off_on_again.html

I think is just a problem with the alignement of the lens,

best,

Jorge

Replace Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 shutter button

Don't throw your Sony Cyber-Shot camera away!

We found a website who has created an entire comprehensive photo instructions for the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H Series Shutter Button Installation.

They also have the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H9 Shutter Button Installation Instructions as well!

Please note that we STRONGLY recommend using a flash discharger. This is for your safety and also for your camera's safety.

Hope this helps to get your camera working and start capturing memories again!
