Plugged into laptop works fine on analogue, on sons pc shows digital and wont let me change to analogue, any ideas, im not technically minded, but clearly the cables are all ok as is the monitor. Is this something that i could do, or is a technical problem. PS worked fine yesterday. Many thanks.

Have you tried connecting the monitor then powering the PC on. at that point i would say it could be a problem with the PC.

When you connect the monitor and power on the PC, do you see anything on the monitor screen at all?

Has anything been modified on the PC right before it stopped?

SOURCE: on screen controls have a mind of their own

The buttons are stuck - If the screen is out of warranty then i would take it apart and see if he buttons can be unplugged or cleaned up.

If in warranty Samsung is excellent with repair service. - Depending on the model LCD its either 1 or 3 years warranty.

SOURCE: Samsung GH19LS LCD Monitor wont display computer signals

You should have received two cables with the monitor. One is for VGA and plugs into you video card or computer board . The second one is for DVI digidal video and if you have that cable it plugs into the square connector. Then if you look into your monitor manual or quick setup sheet it will tell you how to connect and set the monitor to either VGA or Digital. I'm sure that is what has to be set. Don't hook up both cables to the monitor and computer. Only use the one. Digital gives you a better picture if your computer has that function. Hope this is helpful. Bud

SOURCE: CHECK SIGNAL CABLE

Typically this happens when the resolution of the display is out of range of the monitor. Normally this is when the resolution is too high. Have you changed the resolution settings? Also, not to be crass, but if there a video card in the system, be sure that you are connected to the correct VGA connector. With an extra card in the system, the onboard VGA connector is not used.

Keep us posted,
Dan

SOURCE: samsung lcd 913v self test ok, no image when vga connected

This problem often occurs in samsung SyncMaster LCD monitors.

The solution is open your look for the LCD monitor power supply module (which have PCB connector to the AC power), on that board look for capacitors, now look for broken one which upper part is bloated, like the image below:

If you find a damaged capacitor as in the picture then you should replace it with the same value.

Try the plugging the setup into a different monitor to eliminate the lead however it sounds like the monitors died. With cost of screens even if you can get hold of one you'll be better off getting a new monmitor.

Monitor keep flashing analog and digital when i turn it on

Hi Ichandler422,
This usually happens when the monitor does not recognise that it has been plugged in. Please check that there is either a blue analogue or white digital cable connect to the monitor and the computer.

Hook up that monitor to another laptop or computer. If it works then its an issue with the vga port on your laptop. If the monitor still shows those lines then you know for sure the monitor is bad and it will have to be replaced.

Since you have tried another monitor with your computer, then we can only assume that your LCD monitor had gone bad.
If the light is green but you can't see anything on the screen, then most likely the backlight has gone bad. Unless you want to take the monitor apart, I would suggest buying a new monitor.

Screen on first start doesn't work

Hi there,

I have a SyncMaster 931BW which I duel Screen with a analogue montior.

There are Three things that I would check:

  1. Connection: if you are using the DVI adaptor, try using just the analogue (VGA) connection into your PC. You may have a faulty DVI adaptor which the PC cannot detect an output device.
  2. Drivers: If you have a standard monitor connect that to the PC and see if there is any output, if so, you may need to install the drivers for your monitor. You should have a Samsung Drivers Disc, or visit the Samsung website: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/download/supportDown.do?model_nm=930BF&mType=DR&vType=L
  3. Cable: ensure that the cables are not knotted, and that within the adaptors the pins are all there and not bent as there is not a proper connection with the device.

Try them.

Samsung LE26R73BDX 26INCH - LOSS OF DIGITAL SERVICE

Solution that worked for me:

Beware: Although the process should be safe, it technically voids your warranty.

Enter the service menu:
1 - turn of tv with remote
2 - press and release in the following order on the remote: Info, Menu, Mute. Make sure remote is pointing at the tv
3 - turn on the tv from the remote
4 - you will see the service menu. using the down arrow on the remote select the Reset option. Using the right arrow button at this point will do a hard reset.
5 - Wait a few seconds, turn TV on
6 - you will have to rescan analogue and digital channel but it should be working now.
