Can't figure how to use drying rack in dryer of whirlpool duet dryer

You can stack, will you be able to reach. Racks can be made to stack any normal washer and dryer.

Yes - drum revolves around rack. Shouldn't tumble! Insert the dryer rack inside the dryer drum. You must line up the wire on the back of the rack with the ledge of the inner dryer panel. Front of rack tucks into or above lint trap

To use the drying rack
Do not remove the lint screen.
1. Open dryer door.
2. Place drying rack inside dryer drum, positioning the back wire
on the ledge of the inner dryer back panel. Push down on
front edge of drying rack to secure over the lint screen.
3. Put the wet items on top of the rack. Leave space between
the items so air can reach all the surfaces.
NOTE: Do not allow items to hang over the edge of the rack.
4. Close the door.
5. Select a timed drying cycle and temperature, or an air cycle
(see following chart). Items containing foam, rubber, or plastic
must be dried on a clothesline or by using the Air Only
temperature setting.
6. You must select a time by pressing MORE TIME or LESS
TIME. Reset time as needed to complete drying. Refer to the
following table.
7. Press (and hold) HOLD TO START button (about 1 second).
NOTE: You must remove rack for normal tumbling. Do not use
automatic cycles with the drying rack.

drying time will depend on the amount of moisture items hold.

The dryer rack should hook to the bottom of the door opening(using the lip of the door). If the rack is properly placed the drum should be able to turn without touching the dryer rack. Some dryers have the option of turning off the drum. If your dryer does not have this button or a dryer rack position on the timer dial then you cannot turn off the drum.

Whirlpool Duet electric dryer only dries clothes on heavy duty selection. what is wrong?

If it is a gas dryer. Sounds like thermal fuse. It costs about $12.95. Most appliance part stores carry it all the time. Very easy to replace. Also can be ignition switch (also cheap). If you know someone who is mechancally inclined, after removing fuse,they can run an electrical jumper cord to the two open ends. If the dryer begins drying, then it is definitely the fuse.
Go to Whirpool site and get part number and diagram to fix. Maytag repair can help at a costly figure after they order part since Whirpool bought Maytag.

I had the same problem: they sent me the rack, but no instructions.
But if you look in the product manual for your dryer, there should be a section on how to use the rack. For the Cabrio, which is what I have, it's on page 21.
If you don't have the manual anymore, you can get them online at Whirlpool's web site. Just plug in your model number in the search box, and there it will be.

This is some basic info I could find on your dryer. I will need you Serial Number in order to determine the year it was produced. Please post back with comments and let me know.
