I see this is an old message so you have probably tossed or retired this set.
The problem is likely in the power supply section of the set.
If it is elsewhere in the set, the power supply may be cycling to avoid further damage or even a fire.
I suggest you not leave this set plugged in anywhere it cannot be seen.
Check The Caps on Power Supply Board, Which is a common problem ..

I BOUGHT THIS SAME TV FOR MY DAUGHTER LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. LAST NIGHT THE PICTURE WENT OUT BUT SHE STILL HAD THE SOUND. I DIDNT PAY FOR THE WARRANTY. PLEASE HELP ME THATS ALOT OF MONEY TO GO IN SUCH A SHORT TIME
I have the same problem, i turn on my tv and it just goes black. I still have sound though. I read one of the solutions, but i cant figure out where the power supply board is.
