Hi,the webcam works fine with other apps,but when I try to us it with skype,it tells me that the cam is being used by another app,but it is not.

All you have to do is use skype and setup the webcam or facebook has an app to use video, but if you use just the cam then it is under Acer Crystal Eye in all programs.

If you don't see the person you are chatting with on Skype, the issue is probably on their hardware. You do need to "Enable Video Call" from the Skype app's Menu after initiating a video call. If you aren't seen on the other party's side of the call, then it's your device settings that must be adjusted.

Does your tablet have a front-facing camera and Android version 2.3 or better? (The M18A is listed as having Android 4.0) If so, then you should be able to video chat with the Skype app. When you use the rear-facing camera, obviously there are issues with the other party seeing you.

If you have a front-facing camera, make sure that this is the default camera while the Skype app is closed. Open the default camera app and tap the icon to toggle the front camera interface (if needed). Then switch to video mode. Return to the home screen and open the Skype app. Login and start a video call. Then press Menu (in the app) and "Enable Video Call".

If this doesn't work, you may need the IP Webcam app. This is available at the Play Store. After setting the default camera, set the resolution and the frame capture rate, among other settings. Next, follow the directions for using Skype for a video call.

A couple of things to try. First of all see if the drivers for the webcam are properly installed. you
should be able to go to Compaq's web site and download the drivers and install/reinstall them.

2nd thing, I have a Gateway thats similar to your Compaq and it came with no software to use the
webcam. Try downloading Skype and see it it will find the webcam. You'll have to go to the
settings on Skype and tell it you have a web cam and you want to use it.

If using an application that uses Flash like Dim Dim you'll have to allow flash to access your
webcam and soundsystem. Right click on the flash app and change the settings to allow it
to use your equipment.

try to Update MSN
and try another app like skype to verify

Do you have MSN messenger or any other instant messenger program starting when your computer starts up, if so thats probably your problem.
Use MSconfig (in run box) or a program like cc cleaner to check your startup folder

you need to have installed webcam drivers, if you have them, you can enable webcam in apps like skype, live messenger, icq and many other IM apps

If this unit is running XP Home:

The Aspire One should have come with the webcam driver preloaded so you should simply have to configure Skype or whatever app you wish to use to access the webcam.

Should you need to load drivers however:

There are 2 possible drivers for the Aspire One (in XP), the default driver is for a SUYIN cam (driver download) the other is for a LiteOn cam (driver download) [ try the SUYIN driver first ].

After verifying that the drivers are installed and functional you should be able to pull up Skype (or whichever app you wish to use for conferencing) and configure the webcam for use.

You may want to bookmark this URL in case you ever need to download any XP drivers for your unit...

i have solution for this question but only for msn.........i dont use skype messenger.........so first u install software of logitech properly in u r comp then open windows live messenger........click the tools>audio and video setup..then press next n then select ur cam logitech quick cam pro 9000.....n then u see ur pic on that box..then finish it.......now try use it it will work......
