I had a power outage and my GE 10000BTU window a/c unit stopped working after 4 weeks. When the power was restored the unit wouldn't come on.

W10338685B Kenmore toploading HE low-water washer. Stops working at rinse/spin cycle. What's the fix?

Hello. There are several things that can cause this problem. The first thing I check is the drain pump--if there is 120 volts getting to the pump, and the pump is not running, the drain pump is either jammed or the motor is bad. If there is NOT 120 volts at the pump when it should be running, that indicates either a broken wire from the main control board or, a defective main control board. If the unit senses water in the tub, IT WON'T SPIN. One of the other causes of a no-spin could be a defective lid lock or even a corrupted/damaged main control board. The drive motor for the unit is controlled by the main control board which is told what to do by a program. If you have power outages, the board could have been partially damaged by a current surge when the power was restored. (Outages are NOTORIOUS for damaging circuit boards in appliances). If it wasn't blown out immediately, USUALLY about 4-6 weeks after the event the chips on the boards start to fail causing varied problems.

My sister year old GE dishwasher won’t start. Ha don’t a power outage and after power came on she tried to start it and wouldn’t work.

If it was running when the power outage happened, that may have "fried" the control panel.
She needs to have it checked by an appliance repair person to see if that is so.
God bless your efforts.

How do I reset the control panel? Other ideas?

Hello. If your unit is running continuously, the timer/control board is defective and needs to be replaced. I need the make/model number to help you accurately. If you have the mechanical timer(round knob that turns), it's not advancing(no repair possible). If the unit has an electronic control, the program quite possibly is corrupted--or a relay is stuck causing the problem. Have you had a power outage recently--3-4 weeks ago? These are notorious for damaging the control boards from the current surge when power is restored. I hope I helped you--definitely give me the model number, thanks!

Control panel is not responding

Most likely, if power *is getting to the unit*, (there are lights lit on the washer), then the culprit will be a shorted user interface board(control panel). This is a fairly common type of issue with dishwashers. The soft-touch buttons or the touch panel has a shorted button or area(depending on the type you have) and nothing else will function because the unit thinks you're still pressing a control button. Also, a VERY common cause of this issue, aside from moisture or bugs, is a power outage damaging the console when power is restored due to a surge. After an outage where damage occurs, the symptoms don't usually start for about 3-4 weeks after due to damaged chips on the board starting to fail.

Hi! After a power outage my Little Giant SPBS-12 backup system sounded an alarm that wouldn't quit even after power was restored (it was only off for an hour). When unplugged the louder and more...

What is the age of the unit? Those batteries don't last forever and are constantly under a small charge. When the outage happened the battery discharged and the sensing circuit was able to tell that the battery was no longer any good.
