Power off the unit. Under the right corner of the drive tray is a small hole (see pic). Find a paper clip that fits the hole. Straighten the paper clip and slowly push it in the hole. The drive tray gears will begin turning forcing the tray open. Gently pull tray all the way out. Power unit back up and see if it starts to respond again.
I don't know if it will completely fix the issue for sure but it is worth a try. I have had good results using this method if the drive is not truly broken.
