Replaced my samsung 56" DLP bulb. now tv starts up and picture comes on and a few seconds later the screen goes blank. Seconds later the picture is back and it repeats the cycle over and over.

Bad smd capacitors on the digital board. There are many and unlike regular capacitors are small and hard to replace. May just want to get a whole new digital board. Try Encompas parts.
It sound like you have a power supply fault caused by a display failure. Without a service manual and test gear, I don't think there is much likelyhood of an effective repair. Contact Samsung for a dealer in your area is my advice. Hope that helps.
I pulled out the Lamp, cleared the dust inside with one of those air blowers and returned the Lamp. That seems to have fixed the picture problems I was having.
