My photocopy function on my Canon Pixma MP 160 no longer works. When I push the copy button nothing happens, no noises, nothing. Scanner and print functions are working OK although everything seems a little slow. I live in Vietnam right now although I bought the printer in the U.S. A technician here in VN looked at it and said that it was the "main board". Any other suggestions?
My scanner is not working properly. When button is on then some sound appers but soon shows the dialogue that the cable is not disconnected or the scanner button is not on ,check the status.;
Any suggestion is welcome
There is a problem with your scanner, neither scanner is working there is a problem in scanner cable and also there is a problem in copy button or panel problem one of them has to be replaced and to be checked

Make sure the scanner is connected to your laptop/PC before you press 'scan' and is turned on. Pressing the scan option will start Canan's software MP Navigator for scanning. You can also start MP Navigator on your PC and then start scanning directly from your program or from the printer button.

First, download the software at http://www.box.net/shared/4yblbn34kg
Secondly, to run the software your printer has to be in service mode. Do that by - unplug cable - press and hold "power" button - plug cable - press "resume" and release - release the "power" button At this stage, your computer will detect a new hardware
You need to be more specific. Does nothing happen when you press the Copy button? Does it give you a blank page, a solid inked page, or no page for the copy? Do you get the same results for Color Copy or Black and White Copy?
my MP 160 cannot scan to pc, but can print and photocopy well. it says
it cannot communicate with scanner..cable might be disconnected or
scanner might be off..tried uninstalling and reinstalling..still
doesn't work
