First, clear the error by unplugging the range (or turning off the circuit breaker) for 15-30 minutes. For ranges manufactured by GE, the F8 code indicates that the incorrect voltage is being seen at the electronic oven control board (EOC or clock). If the error after cycling the power, you need to replace the electronic control board. For Maytag ranges, the F8 indicates a problem with the electronic relay board. Again the part has to be replaced if the error persists.
Please add a comment with the model number of the range for information on the part number and pricing for the control board, if it is available. I hope this helps.
I am publishing this tip because of the many users asking me about the code 5AB on Amana, Maytag and other ovens.
Error 5AB in fact does not exist , and what you see written on display isnot 5AB.
The beeping sound is a warning because the oven is in lock condition. The oven is not faulty, and the code is not 5AB, but SAB.
SAB means that the oven is in Sabbath mode, and the control board will be locked for 72 hours with SAB on display.
If power is disconnected a new 72 hours cycle will start.
Depending on the model, there may also be a beeping sound when you try to operate the oven.
Push and hold the Clock button for about 10 seconds, until the display clears, that will reset SAB mode.
If that does not work leave the oven connected and off for 72 hours. If
the oven does not unlock after three days, then the electronic control
may be stuck in SAB mode because it is faulty, in that case contact the
manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual.
Hello & Welcome to FixYa F7 error code is displayed when the clock assembly/electronic range control (ERC) goes bad and needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions. Kevin
The F1 code on a Maytag electric stove means the electronic range control, clock or touch pad is defective. You or a technician can do a test to determine which item is broken, but you must replace the electronic clock range in models where the touch pad and range control are one part.
