Have a new computer with Windows Vista. I need a CD-ROM to install my Lexmark Z12 printer.

Access the manufacturer's web-site:

http://support.lexmark.com

and enter 'z12', and do a search.

Select the device-drivers for your Operating System (Mac OS? Windows XP? Windows 7?).

You may want to see if the Printer is actually compatible with Windows Vista first before you try anything else.

If your Printer is Listed Below, then unfortunately it will not run on your system unless you format the machine and downgrade to Windows XP. (Or obviously you can wait until the device is supported, but to be honest that could be months, years).

Searching on Lexmark web site, there are no Vista drivers for your Z12. Only XP,2000 and Mac drivers

unplug the printer and lift the cover and manually try to move the print nozzle assembly back and forth to see if it will move to both sides fully, use a flashlight to see if anything is caught in the belt or sides, the Z12 is an old printer model and the belt may be worn to the point that it wont stay in alignment and might have to get a new printer, fortunately dedicated printers arent that expensive and maybe you can get one at a thrift store real cheap.

NOTE: Lexmark does not have Windows Vista drivers for this model. However, it has been reported that Windows 2000 drivers work well on Vista.

Use the Vista pre-installed Lexmark Z22-32 ColorJet printer driver. If that does not work, use the Lexmark Z12 ColorJet printer driver, listed below the previous driver.
