I had this problem too and found help on one of the many forums i visited: You may want to try taking the battery out. this did the trick with my Aspire 5670. Unbelievable the hours i spent trying to get to the bottom of this problem, only to find that this worked. unfortunately i didn't keep the adice/reason for this. Its woth a try. Good luck.

I doubt it if your keybaord is locked, you probably have other issues in your laptop preventing you from using your keyboard. You can check this by connecting a standard USB keyboard from a desktop.
