No picture just sound

My television was working fine then one day the picture went out, a blue line appeared in the middle of the screen then thescreen was blank. I turned it off then after a while turned it back on and the picture worked again. It started doing this more frequently now & it takes longer for the picture to come back on. The sound & everything else seems to work fine when this happens. Any ideas?

Your projection tubes are messed up. It's a very expensive fix, just get a working TV off craigslist with a smashed screen and reuse your screen itself (usually 100-200$) or just toss the TV and upgrade to an LCD

Screen went black with a vertical rainbow line down the middle

Failue of the vertical section, could be the drive, the power to the section or even some discrete componets. Unless you are familiar with electronics , get some help to ceck out on these circuits, could not be major but to get themain culprit will require good probing.

No picture no sound

Did you mean the picture is collapsed only in the middle horizontally(white line appears on the middle part of the screen)?
If that is the case, maybe vertical IC failed or loose connection.

Quasar TV sp 2724E Loses the picture

Sounds like a failed vertical amplifier circuit. This is normally primarily contained in an integrated circuit mounted on a heatsink.
There are other possibilities along the line but the one above is the most likely.
Now all you need is a TV repair shop that is still in buisness.

BLUE LINE

call philips to get this srviced under warranty. this repair might take a few weeks because the failure could essentially be any one of several parts. first thing to try is the ssb, then the logic board and lvds cable. if none of these work then you need a new panel
