Hitachi tv sound is out

The sound on my tv has gone out for some time now. On a rare occasion it actually comes back but in between long periods of time. I live in a very rural area and the minimum charge to come out and service is 200 hundred dollars and then 80 per hour. Is it something simple or would I be better off purchasing a new model.

If your tv is very old (ten years is old in tv years) then you would be better off with a new one. your alternative would be to run a pair of audio cables from your vcr or cable or satellite reciever to a stereo using the auxillary input and adjust your volume with the stereo.

I have a hitachi l42vk10u and the sound has stopped working this has happend before and the technician went into advanced menu the sound has now gone again

Switch off the TV at the wall plug and pull the plug out. Disconnect everything from the TV, wait 5 minutes, reconnect the aerial, put the wall plug back in and switch on. You should now have sound. I`ve had this on several occasions and this always solves the problem.

My Hitachi TV has gone black

Chances are you have either a bad X SUS board, a bad Y-SUS board or bad Power Supply. In the worst case possibly all three.
I a very rare occasions I have seen the Plasma Panel cause on or more of the above boards to fail. The only way to find out is to call a professional to verify. I would not recommend going it alone.
I hope this helps,

Projection TV problem

sounds like the vertical deflection is causing the CRTs to blank cause you still have sound and on screen displays. Try resoldering the vertical output IC see if that helps. If not you may need a new vertical output IC. Let me know if i can assist you further.

No picture or just one line across screen on hitachi ultravision rearproj.

Could be a loose connection on the printed circuit board in the Vertical deflection circuit.
You would have to have a qualified technician to repair this problem.
A intermittent connection in the circuit described can cause a horizonal line across the screen.
You have to be careful and not leave the TV on for a period of time with a bright line, as it can actually burn a line on the CRT screens, which is permanent.
