How do you replace bulb in magnovox DLP? - Philips Magnavox 50ML8105D 50" HDTV DLP TV

I would expect that the bulb has failed.

If you decide to replace bulb I suggest that you replace with the best quality bulb. I found the brightness between good and best bulb was significant. I have ordered from the internet and have had great results.

There are other possible causes of lost video. The bulb is only the most likely.

When replacing the bulb, it is will be best to replace the ballast also. Make sure that the bulb is of original replacement part.

1. Are you using direct cable from the wall, cable box, satellite?2. Please let me know what will be the display if you hit the menu button at the front panel or on the remote control.

Generally, a DLP bulb lasts about 8,000 hours (if a TV is on 10 hours a day, every day, the bulb will last about two years). A bulb can last longer if it's used less frequently. Typically, a bulb in a DLP TV for household use should last at least three to four years before it starts to flicker and needs to be replaced.

You need to reset the light counter. Access through right most menu item. Then arrow down to lamp settings.

there is not true schmatic to change a Dlp bulb. It should slide or twist right out of its balast and you should be able to put a new one in the same way.

The bulb may be defective or it may be the ballast. The bulp is alot cheaper, try replacing the bulb first.
