Check the back wall of the freezer compartment for snow or frost buildup. Fan running would indicate that the temperature of the coil which cools is cold. If you find a frost buildup on the back wall you more than likely have a problem in the system defrost circuit. You need a service tech.

Hi,
Check the back wall of the freezer for excessive frost. A defrost system problem could be preventing the refrigerator from cooling properly. If you do see excessive frost on the evaporator in the freezer, you may be able to restore proper cooling in the refrigerator by storing your food in an ice chest and then shutting off the refrigerator/freezer and letting the unit completely defrost for about 24 hours. Leave the doors open for air circulation. After the frost on the evaporator has defrosted, plug the unit back in and see if the refrigerator and freezer will cool properly.
If there is still same problem then you need to replace evaporator fan.

Hope this helps.

There is ice building up around the fan. If I don't keep chipping it off the fan the fan hits the ice and is quite loud.

Evap fan stops running/low cooling, Unplug Frig Evap fan runs

Is there anything obstructing the fan area, ice build up ? It is normal for your freezer to get warm if evap fan is not working, it is essential for it to work :) A defrost cycle should kick on a timer or as needed (adaptive) and there should not be excessive frost buildup that it blocks your evap fan. I would have suggested you unplug your refrigerator for about 10 minutes and see if that resets your control board - if not, then you will need service - either replacing motor assembly or a faulty control board.

Not refrigerating

DO you have a thermometer to check the temp in both sections? MY first guess at the temp problem is that the fan has quit OR the vent betwen the freezer and the fridge is blocked. I bet on the fan being bad. Open the fridge door and hold in the little switch that operates the light. YOu should hear a fan running . If not, then the fan is kaput.. JOhnno.
