You will have to go too the pioneer site and see if there are any updates for your system. As to vista causing the problem i don't see how that will work unless they never wrote the program to work on vista, but lots of programs do work on vista that were never written for it. Think they just want you to buy a new gps unit. On a final note make sure that you have the exact street name and put the name in exactly the way it is on a mailing address, i have no idea if you have been to montreal city before but gps units will give you the first address thet think you are looking for. So if you are looking for "rue Chevron" the gps unit might come up with "chevron rue" which is most likely NOT the address you are looking for.

The free upgrade is sent out by the laptops manf. directly to you as long as you bought the laptop in the past 4 months. It is regardless of the current version of Windows Vista that you are running. According to an article found here

"Acer says "shipments will begin in increments. All orders will be handled on a first-in, first-out basis." So if you bought a computer last week, you could be at the end of a long line."

Best you can do at the moment is just wait, your not going to be able to do much till Acer ships out that upgrade. Even if you did install Windows Vista Premium, you would be stuck till you got the Windows 7 from the manf.

Recovery Disk are free kit from your IBM Laptop but gone.
Supposed to be used for installing system or repair.
This time if you don't have, your going to buy a Bootable XP or Vista Pro its the same with your Recovery Disk CD.

providing Vista correctly detects AVC-compliant firewire devices, /any/ camcorder which is compliant with this specification (hence has iLink/i400 connection) should work with it.

Actually when you upgrade your OS from the origional one that you get on ur machine and the CD along with it, the drivers for your hardware have to be re-installed.
However,in the driver cd that you got along with your Laptop will not have it!! So you'll have to download the respective drivers for ur hardware from .then transfer it to your machine with the help of a USB srive or some other thing.Then you can install it!! Be sure to download the Drivers for your HARDWARE only!!
I had the same problem but overcame it by doing the  same as told above!!

This may be because the vista you have has not been registered or it is an upgrade from xp.

Vista doesn't have an upgrade yet, you can upgrade from xp, but not from vista. So this problem is wierd. Get in touch with Best Buy and let them solve the problem.

press f8 while the system is booting up and the safe mode screen will appear, you then choose last known good configuration and press enter for a reboot.
