Won't detect usb from cd instalation - NetGear : WPN311 Wireless PCI Adapter (NENEWP07)

It might not need for WIn8 to detect the adapter. when that screen appears cancel/close of otherwise kill the process and see if the adapter is recognized in Device Manager without any error icons.

Hi there! If the E173 worked with your windows 7 then that means the E173 is working properly, try to check first if the PC specialist windows XP computer can detect the dongle if not then try to use a different USB port now if is detected but won't install try to find it in the drive go to my computer then look for the removable disk or the e173 then manually install it but if after trying different USB ports and the dongle is still not being detected then check if it is compatible with that computer or you can try to use another USB device to check if the ports are working properly.

Right click on My Computer>Manage>Device Manager>does your CD-ROM have a yellow ? or ! on it?
If so, then you somehow need to install a driver for your computer to recognize your drive. If you can get an external CD-ROM that connects to a USB port, maybe you can install the drivers that way. Once that CD-ROM is working, then you can get the drivers installed for your modem. Hope that helps!

Connect the NetGear USB adapter to the USB port of your Laptop, wait for the Laptop to detect the hardware. Once the new hardware is detected put the Driver CD into your laptop CD drive which came along with the product and open the file. Click on auto run and let the driver to be installed. if your hard disk detection is enabled or not...

if yes...(yet your system is not detecting your hard drive)

then....go the manufacturer's site and download the respective sata driver of your hdd (particular model number)...

burn it into a cd...

insert the cd into a usb cd rom/writer.....

then try to install windows.... let the system boots from the cd

at the time when it says "press f2 to install driver"

press f2...

then browse to the location i.i. usb cd - rom/writer and install the driver...


now your system will detect your hdd...

1. Disconnect modem from computer by taking out the usb lead from computer
2. insert modem cd in cd/dvd drive and run install
3. Install the driver from the cd
4. follow directions onscreen the restart computer if necessary
5. plug modem back into usb port
6. now when windows detects it it will find the correct drivers

Some of the iBook G4 optical drives are very sensitive. The best way to test if it is still working is to use the System Disks that comes with every Mac.
Regarding the Flash disk, it may be that your iBook is using USB 1.1 protocol, while your Flash is using USB 2.0. You can check what type of USB your iBook has in the System Profiler. If it is 1.1, then you are out of luck. If its USB 2.0, then you have a faulty logic board.
Either way, not good news for you. Sorry.

I think the problem is not your mobile maybe you need the cd driver to install first before the mobile unit is detected. If you have a cd included when you bought the mobile install the driver. If still not detected check if the usb in your computer is compatible to the usb of mobile. usb.1.1 or usb2.0 maybe the reuired of the mobile is usb2.0

Well, I am not sure about Hp photosmart, But most printers, Like all hard drives, you must install a CD-Rom disk in order to do this, I see that your CD-DVD-Drive was not working also, It should've came with a disk to install it on probably floppy, or your old driver, Hope this helps.
