Did you try rolling back the driver and then reinstalling from a freshly downloaded copy? If you can't rollback, uninstall the device in Device Manager and reboot. That should force it to reload drivers and might correct a corrupted driver.

D drive is my CD writer drive. when I try to access the D drive I get the following message. D:\ is not accessable. The drive is not ready

make sure that the cd burner is getting enough power test all leads that are attached to the dvd burner including electical extensions and make sure they have a secure connection or just replace them there might be bad/faulty or
your drivers may have been corrupted or you might have a virus run your antivrus program
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd burner then plug them back in or
you might have to uninstall then reinstall your DVD/CD or uninstall the driver then reinstall for this device
control panel admistrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll down cd dvd rom drives right click you can you can update driver,roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall

The dvd drive (nec dv-5800a) corrupt driver?

Try going to device manager, and uninstall the optical drive. Reboot the comp . It should resolve the issue.

Device- SONY CD-RW CRX320EE It is detected by the OS(Xp-64bit). Device Status- working properly. Disks(any type) when inserted not detected . More over i can access the drive when i double click it even...

make sure it is not a DVD disk you are trying to insert into your Drive because your Drive is a CD-RW will not read DVD nor burn onto it.

Your disk may be damaged or corrupt and the drive cannot read it.
your drive may need a firmware update from Sony.

They will scan what drivers are corrupted and repair them.

DVD Disc in my Toshiba Laptop Corrupted

make uninstall driver for CDW/DVD then re-boot.
Install the driver for CDW/DVD and use. It will fix your problem.
