Open the lid remove both cartridges and look where the printer head parks itself, you will find a sponge at the bottom, it will be totally soaked in ink.

1) clean the excess ink of the sponge, do not remove the sponge.

2) clean all the pins which connect to the ink cartridge with pure alcohol (not the drinking kind) with cotton buds

Ink light is on. which cartridge needs to be replaced

The printer's indicator lights tell you when to obtain a replacement ink cartridge by flashing when ink is low, and when to replace an empty ink cartridge by remaining on when ink is depleted. The LCD panel also displays INK LOW or INK OUT.
Even if only one ink cartridge is empty, the printer cannot continue to print.

Printer (HP deskjet F4180) showing E and color

This means that there is issue with the Ink Cartridges.
Please remove and re-insert the cartridges.
Check the expiration date on them. Also make sure that you are using genuine HP Cartridges, not refilled or Remanufactured.
If the issue still persists, please replace the ink cartridges.

HELP PLEASE

Remove one cartridge and close the access door. If the cartridge light goes off, the bad cartridge has been removed. If the light continues to blink, remove the other cartridge and reinstall the first one. If the light goes off, the cartridge in the printer is the good one.

The ink light on my printer started to flash. I

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.

Put in new ink cartridge -- won't print

Try lifting up the cover. If the ink level is low in a print cartridge, the Print Cartridge Status light stops flashing. If the problem is not related
to low ink, the light continues to flash after the cover is opened. It might be that the new cartridge is defective. Check the connections and see if there isn't anything keeping it from making contact.

HP Deskjet 6940 not printing after replacing ink cartridge

My HP Deskjet 6940 is not printing. The color (left) low ink light is dark and the black (right) low ink light is flashing. I replaced the black ink cartridge with a new one but the low ink light continues to flash. No tears/rips in the circuit strip and all the copper leads appear to be connected
