ok i dont know if you have had a solution yet but if you have the operating system Windows XP you dont need the software, just plug your USB plug up to your computer and MP3 and it should install the drivers

Change os on a think pad r32

Seems you are attempting an upgrade install. Try to do an erase install / Format Install, most probably it will pick up the drivers on its own if not you can search for the drivers on

IBM Thinkpad R32 NO sound. Say's there is no sound card

Try installing the latest audio driver.
The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista devicedrivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true You can download the variousdrivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will thenunzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the variousdrivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

IBM THINKPAD R32 Tryin buttons to boot won't work?

Normally when as you bootup press F12 and you get a list of devices that you can select to boot up.
If the doesn't work go into the BIOS setup and go to the boot order configuration and set the CD as the first boot device. Later you can change it back if you wish.

IBM R32 ultrabay is not recognized

Did you leave the battery in the R32 for long enough for it to charge up? (Like overnight?) Another thought is that if you bought the battery used, it may not be any good.

I JUST BOUGHT A USED IBM THINKPAD AND CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE FLOPPY AND INSTALL THE CD ROM DRIVE  THANKS RANDY [email protected]

Turn the R32 over on it's top. There should be a small sliding lever located just to the left of the Bay. Moving that to the left will release a small "popout" type of handle. That will release anything in the bay. If that doesn't work, something inside is broken and you may have to disassemble the laptop to get to it.

DVD

Hi,
I don't mean to disagree with my associate, but DVD players for R series (or T, A, etc) can be found for less than 20.00 US (Ebay is a good example)
For that matter, we've got at least a dozen at our shop which we sell for 25.00
Installation is very simple as well, just pop the old drive out, put the new drive in.
Good luck
