My bass boat sat for about 8 months. I had it on the water this weekend and it was not idling well and had trouble starting. Once started, the boat ran well when i was in the throttle.
I ran the old gas out and put new gas in. Still was not idling well. I have replaced all spark plugs, increase my idle rpm's, and replaced my fuel filter. I am still having trouble starting and idling.
When I choke the gas it starts quicker. What do I need to check? Fuel pump? Thanks for any help.

SOUNDS LIKE THE CARB LOW SPEED JETS ARE CLOGGED , THANKS TO THIS PITIFUL GAS WE GET TODAY ,I USE A ADDITIVE CALLED SEA FOAM IT WORKS GREAT JUST ADD TO FUEL EVEN WORKS FOR WINTER SET UP TOO

check battery condition with a load test. check charge rate from motor
clean battery terminals and posts to shiny clean
It has been known for batteries to deplete from electrolysis when stationary in the water so ensure that all cables are in good condition
fit a circuit breaker switch on a battery terminal to switch it off when stationary
carbs, are gummed up. Pull the carbs and clean em, you'll be up and running in no time. The gas they sell now days, it don't take long for it to varnish.
have u tried to adjust you timming linkage? its on the side of the motor where the shifter linkage is try to turn the bolt in or out while running you may get it to idle better if the power pack was bad the engine would cut out at all speeds
