Printer problems I have an epsonr320 and recently when i turn on my computer it freezes on thegateway screen and the fan runs loud,i traced the problem to the printer. when i unplug the usb cable the computer runs fine. i bought a new usb cable and it does the same thing. i calledgateway and the tech told me to cear the non essential programs from the startup menu, which i did and it still does it. this is the only devise on the computer and i have tried different ports. I am trying to find out if this is the computer or the printer. my computer is out of warrenty so gateway won't help i would like to know before i buy a new printer. both the printer and computer are three years old and i have tried to reload the printer

I own an emachines e 625 the problem is,when I start the computer it shows normaly the screen but after that it freezes it's like is locked up,Thank you

Is the fan running at normal speed if so go to the next section, if the fan is running fast and loud the system may need the fan heatsink assy cleaning out.

Try it in safe mode by preesing "F8" during start up and choose start in safe mode if the unit does not freeze then you may have a driver problem or malware /virus infection. There is a current problem with some windows updates that cause svchost to use 100% of the CPU resources. If your machine lets you i.e. not totally frozen presssing cntrl+alt+del and looking at processes tab you can see which item is using all the CPU. Malwarebytes will run in safemode and if you run safemode with networking you can still download and run this program, this will find most nasties and should speed things up if this is the problem.

I have a Toshiba Portege M400. It runs ok if I leave it on a flat surface. However, if I try to move it the screen freezes up and the fan starts running very loudly. I am unable to do anything except cut...

Sounds like there might be dust inside of the laptop that is blocking one of the air vents. Plus the connectors to the screen may need to be reseated so that way the screen can be moved freely without it locking up on you and cutting off.
You have two issues going on. Bring it to somebody so they can open it up and make sure the air vents are cleaned out. Also they need to make sure the CPU fan is running properly. Then with the screen the connectors need to be reseated. Its also quite possible the screen connector might need to be replaced.
If the laptop is under warranty see if Toshiba will reapir it.

I have an 80gb backwards compatible ps3, which recently died on me. In the middle of a blu-ray movie the screen went all distorted and the system froze on me. The only way I could get the power to go off...

Listen to the PS3... if you hear a fan running, your good. The fan is usually quite loud. It does look like your system is overheating. It is one of the older models, therefore Sony didn't learn from its mistakes much before they made it.

05 dodge neon cooling fan is loud. stays on after turning car off

If you haven't made any recent changes then I would first check your coolant levels make sure you have sufficient enough coolant in radiator and in the reservoir if the problem still exist check your thermostat make sure it is opening and closing if it is have your radiator pressure checked at local radiator repair facility... wutxtye0rjd9d9ekmodqt1eoxkvn9hr9qjz1l3dabggyud7sdgr36czsrfxqenadhnijx9nfayi+sz1sug0aaaaasuvork5cyii=

i have hear clearing out the PS3 by turning it on then turning it upside down (when it is standing like a tower). This will make the fans run really loud. Let it run for like 3 - 5 minutes and it should clean it self out. I have never tried this but i have seen it done.

Computer turns on, but does not boot to XP

Generally, fans are controlled by heat readings...something to check is the operating temperature that is shown in your BIOS when you boot up...(access your BIOS by tapping on the delete key, or F2 key while booting)..if it goes over 70C real quick then there is a CPU heat dissipation problem, which would cause the fan to run like this i think that it is more of an issue that your CPU died...has your machine taken any kind of hit or fall that might have loosened things?...or perhaps the heat sink compound between the heatsink and CPU failed.....
but it also could be a dead MB

Computer freeze

Hi, open your case and remove your heatsink and fan, completely clean all dust from it, apply new paste and then remove your RAM, dust off that and the dimm slots. Replace the ram firmly and that should cure your problems. regards mistyman
