Hello sir, hi, there is no user secret switch or lever to touch to remove the cassette, you need to manually remove the cassette by disassembling it and resemble the unit.

Please follow the instructions below to record from VHS to DVD. You may not be able to record from some pre-recorded VHS cassettes due to copyight protection embedded into the recording. You should stick some tape over the copy-protection tab on cassettes prior to recording if the tab has been removed. On some cassettes, there may be a slide switch which needs to be moved to the record/rec position. All pre-recorded cassettes will have the copy-protection tab removed.
1. Switch on the TV and DVD/VCR and select the correct input on the TV for the player. 2. Set the player for the recording direction, i.e. VCR to DVD . . .
- Press the SETUP key on the Toshiba remote to open the on-screen menu
- Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to highlight GENERAL SETTING then press ENTER - Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to highlight RECORDING then press ENTER
- Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to highlight DUBBINGMODE then press ENTER
- Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to highlight VCR > DVD then press ENTER - Press the SETUP key again to close the on-screen menu
3. Press VCR to select VCR mode. 4. Insert the cassette you wish to record and fast-forward or rewind it to the position where you want to start recording from. Allow at least 5 seconds extra if not starting the recording from the beginning of a cassette. 5. Press PLAY then press PAUSE immediately. 6. Press DVD to select DVD mode 7. Insert a blank DVD 8. Press the REC MODE button to select the recording mode (XP / SP / LP, etc) 9. Press the DUBBING key to start the recording.
You can watch the VCR while it's recording. When you reach the point where you want the recording to end, press the STOP key. You do not need to repeat step 2 every time you record. The player will stay in VCR > DVD recording mode unless you change it.

try this unplug and then keep finger on eject and plug back in keeping hold of eject if not work then UNPLUG and take top off video and you will see were the tape is stuck THERE WILL BE A RUBBER BELT ON ONE SIDE OF MECHANISM TURN COGS THAT BELT ARE ON ( USELYANT-CLOCK ) takes time you will see parts move towards front of video ( IF NOT CHANGE THE DIRECTION TURNING ) the tape will come out when finished
THEN PLUG IN SO VIDEO CAN RESET MECHANISM
carefully wiggle and slide out, or if its too far in unplug vcr from power point and carefully remove caseing by removing screws on the side of unit most likley there will be two on either side, remove top cover and pry out carefully with hands,*** make sure not to touch circuitry to prevent any electric shock***as these appliance and many still can hold alot of electrical charge....then replace caseing carefully making sure they are screwed in tight...and away you go
When the tape has been removed the carriage deck will still be in the wrong position. The cassette tray has to be aligned so that the timing of the tape will detect that there is a tape in the machine. At the moment your VCR thinks there is a tape still in it because the cassette tray is not in the full eject position. This can be fixed by a service technician.
oN THIS VCR THERE IS 8SCREWS TO REMOVE THE COVER, REMOVE THE COVER CAREFULLY THEN PLUG THE CORD INTO THE WALL, THE CARRIAGE TRAY WILL ACCEPT OR REJECT THE CASSETTE. oNCE THIS PROCESS IS DONE AN THE CASSETTE IS REMOVED UNPLUG THE VCR AND REPLACE THE COVER WITH THE SCREWS
I'm not sure if this is a solution, but it cleared up the problem for me. It turned out there was a loose paper label for the cassette that got stuck inside the VCR with the cassette.
I had to take off the top of the VCR by removing the three screws. I then removed the jammed loose paper and then was able to get the cassette out. The flashing number 2 (whatever that means) went away. The machine seems to be working fine now.
Sounds as if something got bent in the loading mechanism when you freed the stuck tape. Careful examination of the loading operation with the cover off may reveal the problem, but you may require a service shop, as there are hazardous voltages present inside, even when switched off.
