What does it mean when all the lights are flashing on the control center and the ice dispenser door keeps continuously opening and closing?

I'm not really sure of this one but here's a couple ideas. If the refrigerator ice and water dispenser is not working the dispenser control board might be defective. The control board governs most of the functions of the dispenser system. If only one item of the dispenser system is not working, troubleshoot further to see if the problem is with one of the components in the system. The board is more likely to be the cause of the problem when the entire dispensing system fails. It may also be the door switch If the refrigerator ice and water dispenser is not working. When the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things, it turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice maker dispenser. If the door switch fails the dispenser will not turn on. The switch can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter. If it doesn't have continuity it should be replaced.Before either of these try shutting it off (or place it in demo mode) and return is to active state.It may just need a reset

The dispenser board is bad. Had this problem just last month.

Ours started the same thing today. Called the 800- Maytag service number. They said it is a "known quality issue" with the controller and scheduled maintenace call. If gone unfixed, the controller will probably eventually fail and the frig will quit working all together. From what the lady said, this will be a free fix even though it's passed the warranty period.<!-- from fixya rte -->

there is the HV board on the back under a cover . 2 680uf capacitors @ 35v are likely domed instead of flat on the top and are likely hot. replacing these with an equal value will cure the problem. they are in parallel so 1000 and 470uf will cure it. mine was same model except white. local dealer said no warranty. did not call maytag but he indicated it might help. good luck

I had to pull the J3 connector off of the control module located just behind the dispenser panel. That eliminated the cycling and the flashing lights. Maytag guy came out and told me there is a control board located on the back of the refrigerator. Circuit board cost is $180 and installation labor another $300. I think because the refrigerator and freezer are still functional I will not repair this problem at this time.

On left top side of door, remove cap and disconnect wire. This will turn off the control board on front of fridge and fridge will still run. With the problems it is presenting, I would say it's very likely.
However it may take a bit of detective work to find which board is defective.

The flashing lights usually indicate a jam or the flapper door not met which means a drink already dispensed. Just guessing here, but you may have a board problem. I have removed one dispensing drive motor and if I press that button all lights blink until I open the door and close it. Any chance you have a lot of ice buildup in the back? That could be causing a short or even caused connectors to loosen. A new connector board is $22 on partselect.com but that would again only be a guess. Check some of the other problems listed for other possibilities.
