You should have no problems. Wireless is a protocol onto itself which is not OS specific. Hence the ability to use game consoles, security cameras and even phones on a wireless network.

We went from a windows xp to windows 7 and now our linksys won't work. it comes up error 322. help. model # WRT54GS v7.2

NOTE: For instructions on how to "Get Downloads" from Linksys Support site, click here.
Connecting to Wireless Networks Using Windows 7's WLAN Autoconfig

Follow the steps to connect to your wireless network using Windows 7's Autoconfig.

Step 1:
Click on this icon kb20600-001_en.png at the bottom-right of the screen and you will see a list of available wireless networks.
Step 2:
Select your wireless network's name or SSID then click Connect.
NOTE: If the wireless network's name or SSID is not listed, the SSID broadcast on the router is disabled. To connect to the wireless network with SSID broadcast disabled, click here.
If the computer does not connect, it is probably because the computer cannot detect any signal or cannot see any wireless network. In this case, you should change the channel of the router. For instructions, click here.

If WEP/WPA is enabled on the router:

NOTE: To learn more about WEP/WPA and other Wireless Settings, click here.

Step 3:
You will be prompted for your wireless network's security key. Click OK after entering your security key.
Step 4:
You will see the following screen and you will be soon connected to your wireless network.

Advise how I can get a Linksys Network Management

The most recent version of Network Magic is 5.5, which is free from Linksys.com. However it does not fully support Windows 7. You'll have to wait for a future version for full support.
Here's what Linksys/Cisco has to say about version 5.5 and Windows 7:
Windows 7Network Magic 5.5 has been minimally tested on pre-release versions of Windows 7 operating system. Full testing of Network Magic on this operating system will occur as it approaches readiness for release.

I cannot set up my Linksys wireless router model number:WRT54GS to work properly. I have a desktop computer with Windows XP operating sysyem. I have three other laptop computers with wireless components

Hi,

The easiest would be to connect your desktop straight to your modem and verify that you can connect to the Internet. Do not use the LinkSys WRT54GS yet. Pop in the CD that came with the WiFi Router and run the setup wizard. Follow exactly on screen instructions. Verify that your desktop's networking is set to auto obtain IP address.

Alternately, you can try:
1. connect your desktop with a straight through LAN cable to Ethernet Port #1 of the WRT54GS;
2. set your desktop to use IP-192.168.1.10, Subnet Mask-255.255.255.0, Default Gateway-192.168.1.1;
3. open a browser and goto 192.168.1.1. use the LinkSys supplied username and password;
4. verify/configure/set the LinkSys to your preference;
5. for the time being do not use any security keyphrase, WEP WPA or MAC filter;
6. verify that your laptops could see the router's SSID;
7. verify that all laptops are set to auto obtain IP addresses;

If for some reason neither method will not work, pls post back with your modem's make & model.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
