When an incoming fax is stored temporarily in the printer's memory, chances are, one of your cartridges has low ink level. To retrieve stored faxes, current state of printer must be on the instance when the fax is temporarily sent to printer's memory. Replace your low-ink cartridge without navigating away from the Fax function. Once you have replaced the cartridge, press Ok button to continue printing the fax.
It could be because one of your cartridges has low ink level, thus printer is not able to continue printing the fax message. Open the printer cover and replace your cartridges (without navigating away from the fax mode). Once cartridge/s has been replaced, just hit the Check mark to print the fax message.
if there are a message like empty cartriage or low cartridge that means
the printer want new cartridge for print fax, when it print another document and also print reports without trouble.
Hi did u tried to restart the printer if still have the prob please double click on the printer icon comes when u issue a command to the printer check if it shows if there is an error try to cancel the print job which has error and restart the print job if still dosent go on printing just go to controll pannel >fax and printer devices> right click on the lexmark printer icon and remove it and then adda printer put the provided cd with lexmar and reinstall it it should be ok ....
I solved my problem by powering off, which I knew would lose the faxes in memory. However, I decided to have the faxes re-sent. As soon as I get time, I will address this issue with Lexmark. It seems incomprehensible to me that Lexmark does not provide instructions on how to do this.
Thank you for your interest. This simple question does not warrant a team to figure out--it is a manufacturer's responsibility.
There is no direct means of recovering a lost fax, but unplugging the
machine and reseating the power supply will restore normal operation.
An error report will be printed and provide information about the lost
fax, which may allow the user to contact the sender and request that
the fax be sent again.
