Cant sign on to computer

    • 1 Download the missing comctl32.dll file. Locate a website that offers the comctl32.dll file. You can also use the link in the Resources section.
    • 2 Unzip the download file if it is a .zip-type file. Right-click on the file and choose "extract" to make the file available in a .dll format.
    • 3 Install the missing comctl32.dll file in the proper folder on the computer. If the operating system is 64-bit Windows, copy comctl32.dll to the "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" folder. If the operating system is 32-bit Windows, copy comctl32.dll to the "C:\Windows\System32" folder.
    • 4 Restart the computer by clicking on the "Start" button and selecting the "Restart Computer" option.
    • 5 Open the computer program that previously displayed the error message stating that the file comctl32.dll was missing. This will verify the program now works properly.

Many errors surface soon after you install new hardware or software because conflicts often occur between the new product and previously installed components. To put an end to such messages, you might be able to uninstall the program or hardware (and hardware drivers) and then restart your computer to an errorless state.

If you do find that removing a new product eliminates errors, you might have to do some research to figure out the source of the conflict before you can reinstall the new product. Check the manufacturer's Web site for updated drivers, search support areas for known conflicts, and contact technical support for assistance. Sometimes tech support gurus can help you tweak a setting to end software conflicts.

Let it finish. Developing new computing habits can also limit the number of error messages you see. When you first start up your PC, let the hard drive come to a complete stop before starting a task; this lets your computer load all necessary drivers and operating system components necessary for efficient and error-free operation. The same concept works for your other programs. Let each program start up or shut down completely before you move on to another job.

I'm running windows 7 on a Toshiba L455 and I keep getting a prompt that says; can not find "flash.ocx"

Flash is a programming language that many publishers use to create animations, games, and interactive programs for the web. Flash is also used for programs run locally on a users computer. To use these Flash based programs and web applets, the end-user must have Flash Player installed. One component of Flash Player is a file called "flash.ocx." If this file is missing or damaged, you may get an error message.

There seems to be two root causes of this error. A description and solution for each follows:

  • You receive the error message "Cannot find the file flash.ocx" every time you start your computer or each time you open your web browser (such as Internet Explorer). This is usually the result of a missing "flash.ocx" file caused by an incomplete installation of Flash. Here's how to remedy the problem:
    1. Download the Flash Player uninstallrom Macromedia. Save it somewhere convenient.
    2. Run the downloaded program and allow it to finish.
    3. Once the uninstall completes, restart your computer.
    4. Visit the Flash Player website and download/install the latest Flash Player version.
    5. That's it!
  • You receive the error message "Cannot find the file flash.ocx" at seemingly random intervals or when starting a specific program (other than your web browser). First, perform steps 1-4 of the previous solution. This will insure you have the latest version of Flash Player installed. If you still receive the error message, continue with the steps below:
    1. Navigate to the folder "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\". In this folder you will see a file named "Flash9f.ocx".
    2. Make copy of the "Flash9f.ocx" file in the same folder as the original (copy the original, then paste the copied file into the same folder).
    3. Rename the newly made copy to "Flash.ocx".
    4. If the previous steps don't eradicate the error messages, change your screen saver to one of the defaults that are included with Windows (such as "3D Text").
if the problem still persist please let me know.

Webexception

Your program that is using the .net compact framework is the one failing (not catching an exception), but because you haven't yet installed the optional resource strings for reporting error messages in .net cf apps (a big mistake by the .net cf team by making that optional), you're not seeing the real error message. You're only seeing the "an optional resource assembly containing it cannot be found". Install System_SR_ENU_wm.cab on the device, then reproduce the error. This time you will see a better error message.

Viking D1 error message file not found

You need to use either Organizer or Disk Manager to put designs on the floppy disk. Both of these are Husqvarna programs, not part of your computers operating system. If you copy shv file directly, the machine does not have all of the information that it needs to read the files. If the folder containing your original shv files that you purchased contains additional files, you just need to copy EVERY file within that folder to the floppy disk and it might work. Don't attempt to move individual files to the floppy. You will need them all.

Not getting chat session

It could be that your profile does not have enough categories, and the chats that are coming up are not in your profile. Try to add as many categories in the My Profile section..you should be able to see a chat or two. Also note that most of the customers are in the US, so the time difference could be a factor as well..
