Try Formatting the flash-drive, Quick format will do (fat 32)
if it still not detecting, might as well send it back to store where u bought it, They will replace it if it's still under warranty.

When I insert the usb drive into my computer it is being recognized but then when I try to access it it says please insert a disk into drive f. It's not even allowing me to format it.

Hello, sounds like your drive F: is the cd or dvd drive..or maybe even a virtual cd drive. but definitely not the usb drive. Try to right-click on all of your visible drives in turn, go down to 'properties' and see if any of them are around 4gb in size. This will be your usb drive. Are you plugging it directly into the computer or through a hub...if through a hub try plugging directly into a computer usb port till you've successfully identified the drive letter.

San Disk Micro Cruzer 4GB

Hi there,

Try plugging it in to a different USB port on your computer. Make sure the connecter on the Cruzer is clean and there's no dust inside.

Also, try plugging it in on a different computer.

If none of these work,
I'm afraid it's a hardware problem and there's nothing that can be done about that.

Hope I helped!
