Ive a lexmark x4270 tried to copy says consult user guide for error #1203 and i dont have a users guide. anyone know what i need?

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy

you may need to Reset Factory Defaults

from reading on your error it seems to point to an ink cartridge issue have a read of some of the following links

Check to see if ink is smeared on the holder where the contact panel with the cartridge is. Use a tissue with a few drops of water to dampen and clean off those contacts on the holder. Print the test page to see how it looks. Be sure not to leave any tissue on those holder contacts.

Try that and see if it works for you.

This error means that either the ink cartridge is bad, or the copper contacts between the cartridge and the cartridge slot is bad. Try cleaning them with rubbing alchohol and a q-tip, or try a new ink cartridge.

It is a hardware printing problem . Try to clean contacts in printers in cartridge holder by alcogol and elastic rubber. it may become dirty an poor contact. after this you can try this:
Put some layers of the sticky tape on cartridge to improove force of contact.
