The harness should never be completely removed due to the safety implications of it being incorrectly re-fitted.
Please contact the customer service department on 01284 413 141 Mon-Fri 8.30-4.30 to discuss booking the carseat in for our engineers to rectify it and what the cost will be.
the secret is on the hidden gap at the front of the car seat ... where it appears to be in a fixed loop at the front slide it to the side to expose a hidden gap in the plastic .. you can then just slide the straps out...as easy as that !! ( easy when you know how)
Hi,
Yes the **** strap will fit through the hole, although this is a tight squeeze, but often something that people mention as a little tricky.
I hope this helps.
Never submerge the straps fully in water - it can damage the webbing so that they're not as strong and safe.
I don't have that seat, so I can't tell you how to remove them, but car seat harnesses should only ever be cleaned with a damp cloth.
You should never put your baby in a car seat in their snowsuit. It counts as extra padding, and voids all the crash testing done with your car seat. It is NOT safe!
You should instead put your child in the seat with just normal clothing, tighten until it's very snug. You should not be able to pinch your strap at all, then put a blanket on top of the straps.
There should be a tension adjustment. Read your user's manual. If you don't have one, call the manufacturer and they can email you a virtual copy.
If the tension is let all the way out, your child has probably outgrown the seat. Check the manual for height and weight limits. My boys grew out of their infant seats at 4 and 5 months old! It was an older Discovery model, but I suspect the height limit is still a measly 26 inches, instead of 29 inches like most seats. They weren't even CLOSE to the weight limit, but had to move to a convertible seat anyway.
I need a new seat for the baby who will arrive in a few months, and I will be paying more $$$ for one that has a higher height limit.
ON THE BACK OF THE CAR SEAT ARE TWO LATCHES SIMPLY REMOVE ONE BY PUTING THE STRAP THROUGH THE LATCH AND ADJUSTING IT TO YOUR CHILD FIT DO THE SAME TO THE OTHER. LET ME KNOW IF I WAS ANY HELP...
