Canon PowerShot S400 Screen Problem

I had this camera for years, and a couple of months ago, when i turnedo n the camera, the digital screen was all blurred with pinks lines. A couple of weeks ago, i turned on the camera trying to figure out again how to fix this, and the pink blurry thing was gone! I used it for another 4 hours until i turned it off. I turned it back on again the next day and it turned back to pink. It switches this same way many times, but always goes back to the pink. When i take picture, it comes out fine, but the videos show the blur. Is there a solution?

Pink lines on canon powershot a95 camera. also when in shooting mode, camera screen flashes- like it is trying to set light levels.

Sensor gone bad. Factory defect. Canon had recall about that a few years ago. A bunch of sensors produced by one of their suppliers (also used in other brands) turned out defective. They repaired my A95 (well past warranty) for free a couple of yeas ago when it developed that problem. Don't know it they still would. Contact them.

Nothing displays in LCD screen, canon powershot S400 digital ELPH

Sounds like your LCD might have gone bad. The LCD might cost more than the camera costs, but there are a few places on eBay that you can buy a repair and replacement service from for pretty cheap.

Blank black screen for my canon powershot S1 IS digital camera

This is a common problem with S1 IS and it is caused by faulty CCD sensor. Note that you can playback captured images without any problem but in capture mode all you get is blank screen. Will have to go to Canon but note that Canon repairs these models free of charge when it is the CCD sensor that stops working.

Memory card error

Both I and my son have IXUS 400's bought about 3 years ago with this problem. Reformatting cures sometimes for a short time but basically both cameras are useless. Neil
