Model 55PP935217 multiple convergence mode, the blue colored + is pulsing after IC chips #7044 and #7045 were properly replaced and resistors (12) were good. When single convergence mode is selected, the red aligns properly, however the blue is wider and longer, and does not vanish completely behind the +. Thanks for your help.

I understand your frustrations, and if you did the work yourself you can feel really bad. In this case if you really want to save this TV, I would suggest you visit Union Electronics. And purchase a reworked replacement board. In many cases this is the best route to go and the price is reasonable. Call them at 1 800 648 6657. I have had very good luck with this company! And these boards are guaranteed, ask for the lenghth allowed. Have your TV model # and tell them you are looking for the convergence board. Thanks for asking!

How do you fix the color to a model 43fdx11b hitachi

Hello!you mean: colors out of convergence? nothing you can do about that, unless you replace 2 convergence amplifiers I.C. chips, plus all those burned 1 watt low ohms resistors with exact values, which only could be obtained via service manual or schematics. After resistor is burned, there is no way to read color code properly, due to partial evaporation of pigments. this is a "pro" job. If you try or tried, already to converge those "stubborn" crosses, there is more to do, even after you removed and replaced two 20 pin I.C. chips, soldered dead into sweep module, plus located and replaced resistors with precise values, you need to get your settings back to normal, by going into "factory service mode' or, at least into "convergence alignment" menu and fight with those crosses!Don't forget the white "****"! Otherwise, you will be re-servicing your set all over after 30 days of usage.good luck,Alex.

I changed my two IC chips and three resistances on my Hitachi TV to fix color alignments. Now the problems is that yellow and blue double image are seen at the bottom of my screen with no much effect on...

Ur tv still have dead resistors parts, test all 12 resistors parts around the 2 STK convergence ICS and changes some more dead resistors parts or changes all 12 resistors parts for sure.If tv still have the same problems after tested and replaces more resistors parts or all 12 resistors parts.Than some how when u handling and replacing the 2 STK convergence ICS and resoldering the 2 STK covergence ICS u short it out the 2 STK convergence ICS by resoldering without proper grounding ur self not to allow for static electricity to kill the 2 STK convergence ICS or u using a soldering iron to high of a wattage for doing soldering ICS work.

How difficult is to replace convergence chips on a PHILLIPS model 55pp935217

quite difficult it not just replacing the chips you have to test the resistor in front of the chips which mean you have desolder 1 end of the resistor so you get a proper reading on the mulitmeter also you have to test the capacitor at either end i've repaired a few . trust me if i was you get a quote from an engineer good luck

Replaced IC chips, but can't fine-tune convergence.

U know how to use a multimeter right?Check and replaced all the resistors near the 2 convergence ICS.Most resistors are big and blue core in colors.

I have a phillips 55pp935217 and I am having trouble "syncing" the picture. I have tried the factory convergence setting and it just seem to get worse. If I manage to get the red and blue multi point...

You need to replace the two STK-392-120 convergence IC's and any of the 6.8 ohm protect resistors near the 3 plugs to the left and front of them. Then adjust the set in the TECH menu.

You can buy the 2 chips for less than 15 dollars plus shipping on Ebay--see Sewsales----Suburban Electronics--they have the best price and give a 6 month warranty.

I can if you need give you specific instructions on how to get at the chips and also the entry code for the advanced convergence alignment--if the set will not adjust in some way one or both of the chips are bad--the 6.8 ohm resistors are a light color--open or bad ones will be discolored in the middle--they can all be tested like checking a fuse with any ohm multimeter.

I do this here for free so if this helps, give me a vote here. If you need detailed instructions or have questions.

My t v pictures are sharing colors

if its a pt47wx53 it sounds like the 2 convergence Ic chips are gone--also--there are several blue 2.2 ohm resistors around them---if any are discolored you will need to replace them also---this set uses two STK-392-110 convergence IC chips---you will have to remove the light box---I can tell you how--look for the convergence ic's inside and take a close look at the 10 or 12 powder blue resistors around them---if any two are white in the middle(discolored) they are gone--if you need any help let me know.

Convergence will not line up after replacing ic & resistors

Did you replace the resistors when you replaced the convgence chips? If one of them was bad you would still have the problem.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos.

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Their kits includes photo instruction guides, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Convergence Problem inSamsung HC-P4752W 47" Rear Projection

One of the convergence output IC's has burned out and needs to be replaced. If the IC opens up inside then it stops working without blowing any fuses or resistors. The IC should be replaced and the set realigned by someone with experience in convergence circuits.
