Sony KP-51WS510 My red will NOT line up with the others, it just keeps jumping around... Flash focus doesn't help either..

Make sure the cable box or DVD/Blu Ray player is hooked up properly. Sometimes one of the component cables can become loose and lose the reds.

The red tube could be shot also. My old projection tv had the green go out. Believe it or not the whole thing can be replaced, but to replace a CRT on an older model can cost a lot.

Ur tv now,totally have dead parts,on the tv convergence board.That,why ur flash foucus or manual covergence alignment R,G,B colors line will not matches up.The convergence board parts 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors,must be replaced to solved convergence problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

In replacing the CRTs, there are multiple focus adjustments. The basic one first is the Mechanical lens adjustment on the CRTs, (in this case red), the second one is the Electronic Focus on the Screen/Focus Block on the front of the unit behind the front panel. The third focus and on of the most important is the Beam Centering Focus. (In this case RED CTR) It is located on the neck of the CRTs. They are the first set of adjustment rings up from the CRT Boards. If any of these focus adjustments are off they will cause a symptom like yours to occur. Normally these adjustments are made before any convergence adjustments are made. I would double check to see if the repairman made these adjustments.

I have the same model TV and have had that same problem (*8 flashes) The FLYBACK TRANSFORMER on the D circut board is the most likely cause and will need replaced) the part is around $70.00 USD!

You could have a bad red picture tube.

There are two chips behind the large heat sink that need to be replaced. Also, depending on how the chip(s) failed, the fuses should be checked as well. They are very small, wired in, and right below the heat sink on the side nearest the back of the tv. There are 4 and they are brown in color. Can you unsolder and solder in the new chips? The cost for parts would be around $40.00.

UNDER THE FRONT DOOR PRESS THE BOTTOM BUTTON "FLASH FOCUS" AND SEE IF IT FIXES IT. IF NOT AND YOU SEEN RED DOUBLE OF THE IMAGE, THEN THE SET PROBABLY NEEDS THE CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT REPAIRED.
