SOURCE: tefal proline express steam generator iron needs de scaling

Make a solution of half water and half white vinegar. Fill up your iron and get it good and hot then let it sit a couple hours. flush out and repeat as necessary. Hope you find this helpful. Please give me a fixya rating If this works for you. It works very well as long as it is not completely filled with scale. Once you have it good and clean By a gallon of bottled water at the market and use that for your Iron and you will never have a scale problem again. I learned how to do this 20 years ago from a 80 year old woman from england. If it is really bad you can up the vinegar concentration but do not go higher than 2 cup to 1.

SOURCE: I have a Swan S15040 steam generator iron, the

I had same issue , now , once you turn the unit on , you should see displayed 3 steam jets and the flashing standby , turn the dial on the iron to max ,press the steam button on the machine to max steam , leave for a minute or so , now press the steam button on the iron , does it make a noise ? if it does , slightly raise the whole front end of the unit ( easier if you have the iron on the worktop and not on the unit !) for a minute then try and press the steam button on the iron again . I think there is a bit of an issue about the conection between the water tank and the filter . This solved my issues and i do hope it will help you .

I have a troia 13005 steam iron it heats up fine the tank and filter seem fine but no steam when i press the button under the handle it makes a terrible noise

Hello Corrine Oliveira,

Well... That was pretty interesting... WARN people
to put on their PRIVACY "X" CLOAKS before searching
for YOUR steam iron...

ADULT education... but little else (sorry)

What you really need to consider...
- Is it a NEW PURCHASE...? (take it back)
- Have you ever even looked at the "manual....?
- How old/expensive was this THING...?

I could find NOTHING on the internet... but before
I would drop it in the RECYCLE BIN... I would try
descaling it (several times) with white vinegar...

Then go shopping for a NEW one (my opinion).

I am having issues with my steam generator iron. I used it today and after heating up steam was pouring out from the screw on cap. Put on new green rubber ring and I can iron with steam until I sit on base...

I think lime and calcification are the culprit. Use some "CLR" at Home depot, can decalcify the build up on your irons pressure cap.

I have the Rowenta Steam Station. Love it!

How do you reset the water filter light when you put in new filter on Breville Steam Generator please

Ok, had this too. Done some research and it looks like you have to unplug the iron from the mains , keep both the power and steam level buttons depressed and then plug in and switch on.

Morphy richards steam generator model 42271

is there a noise when u press the trigger? if not there is sometimes a reset button on the front of the base. failing that the problem may well be the solenoid which opens to let the water into the steaming tank which is repairable but can be awkward.

I have a Rowenta DG-980 steam generator. It spits little grains of something when I use my iron. It doesn't hurt my clothing, but I have to brush the stuff off my clothes when I am finished ironing them. I...

Hi, Rowenta recommends that you use clear filtered drinking or bottled water only. I believe them because the system uses brass & aluminum throughout, so salts or acids would cause corrosion. To clean the system totally, after each ironing session before I put it away, I remove the blue reservoir completely, and run the burst of steam several times until the boiler is empty, and red light indicates it is out of water. I shut the power off and unplug. Wait at least an hour or so, access the boiler tank plug on side & if it is cool to the touch, remove it using a coin (quarter), drain and flush the tank several times with the cleaning tube that came with unit or filtered/drinking bottled water several times over the kitchen sink. Finally, drain all the water completely out of the boiler (I leave the plug & cover off to making sure it is completely dry before putting everything back together, ready for the next time). After several use cycles of the above should clear out the debris. My 1st experience with a used DG980 had exactly the same problem. P.S. before ironing the first article, use several bursts of steam away from the ironing board surface to clear out any standing water that was is in the system. Hope this helps :O)
