I have an Alpine CDA-7998 and the display light is out. All of the other buttons light up but there is no light to see what channel or settings that I am selecting. Is this something that can be fixed by myself or do I have to send it to a repair shop?
Solution #2 is incorrect. Alpine service charges a flat $95 for repairing a CDA-7998. How do I know? I sent mine in two weeks ago and got it back a few days ago. They
1) Replaced the burned-out biolite display
2) Replaced the fantomface cam gear
3) Replaced the main logic board
4) Cleaned the laser/pickup optical assembly
Charge: $95 including return shipping.
Is thier something i can do about this situation. My dispay light went out on my CDA - 7998 three weeks ago. please get back to me.
Thank you
Send in for Authorized Repair. Parts used in BioLite display are not readily available, but get out your checkbook.....expect to spend ~$200!
