The default login = admin
The default PW = passwordYou can now change the default admin password and configurethe wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2encryption.

well it would depend, if its a new netgear router, i would suggest to configure it manually, its much easier. especially the wireless connection. just type 192.168.1.1 username is ADMIN and password is PASSWORD all this in lower case. make sure of it. then check on the left side of the site and click on wireless settings. look for ssid or network name, then create your  own personal network name. next is go to SECURITY OPTIONS. make sure you click on WPA-PSK(TKIP) then you would see the passphrase is blank. type in you network password and make sure its 8 characters or more. and click on apply. make sure to write down your network name and password on a piece of paper for future references....and try to test your wireless connection..........

If BT tested the phone line is OK but did AOL test the connection to the Netgear router and get the IP address of your Netgear router.
The phone connection is OK but the ADSL connection from the telephone exchange may not be working, that is why you are not getting an ADSL light.

The router firewall only blocks connections coming from the internet.

Basically it only lets an outside IP connect to your network if you establish the connectoin FIRST.

The most common cause of not being able to see another PC on the LAN is not having the same workgroup name.

Go to Start > My Computer , right click > Properties > Computer name. Make sure all PCs have the same workgroup name.

There is not really a driver needed, you just need to log into the router and adjust the appropriate settings.
