I have just connected my Dell Pc with a new Nvdia 8600 graphics card that can go up to 2056 X1280 in resolution. But my LG M228WA seem not to go over 1680 x 1280 preset resolution. It can go up to 1950 x 1280. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks JJ

As fars as the specs go the monitor has a Max resolution of 1680×1050. That would look like the bottle neck. Either you'll have to just make do with the max of the monitor or you'll have to get a new monitor that supports the size you want. Hope this helps. M~

Respected Sir, I installed an nvidia 8400gs graphic card a year ago..........it works fine ....then two weeks ago i dusted up my cpu...........i inserted the graphic card then the computer...

it is because your nvidia card was broken, it makes the windows won't boot up, try to clean up your nvdia card (yellow circuit which will connect to the pci of the mother board) using a pencil eraser

i suggest you to change your nvdia card with a new one

Video stream temp freeze

though your configuration is good enough sometimes it may happen due to need of higher resolution or it might be a virus attack. check for vrus attacks in your computer using an original anti-virus software. also install a video graphics card like GEforce NVDIA 9100G

Are Dell monitors not compatible with older HP Pavilion Computer? I tried to connect my HP CPU to a Dell monitor and it will not recognize it at all.

It shouldn't make any difference which monitor you are connecting to any computer. In fact, I am running a 19" HP Flat Panel on my Dell Dimension 2400 right now. It is NOT a wide screen monitor as the Dell built in graphics card will not support the RESOLUTION RATIO required for the wide screen. Check what setting is "native resolution" for your monitor and see if your graphics card will support it. If not, using your old monitor, try different resolution settings. Right click on your desk top, click on properties and that should bring up the display properties box. Try a lower setting as larger settings are the ones that will give you a black screen. It will probably give you a smaller picture on your old monitor, or perhaps smaller or larger icons on the desk top. Accept the new settings, turn off your computer and switch monitors, and turn your computer back on. If you get a picture, but it does not fill the whole screen or the icons seem too large or small, then go back into properties from the desktop and try a different resolution ratio until the picture seems correct.

Trying to install Geforce Verto 8400 GS card on Dell GX260 and cannot get computer to start in safe mode when card is in computer! HELP!!

Seems like the graphics card simply isn't compatible with your motherboard either. However, have you tried installing the drivers for the new card with the old one still in, then inserting the new one, and booting up? That's the only thing I can think of that you didn't try yet...

Card not getting detected

does this card have another power source (6 or 8 pin on top of the card) that has not been connected? Also be sure that it is fully seated in the slot. if it has 2 DVI or VGA ports make sure to use the one closest to the rear of the pc.

Other than that If you removed it you maybe have shorted something, ESD (eclectic static discharge) may have shorted out a circuit or transistor on the card.

Dell Desktop DX270 doesn't work with LG w2052TQ monitor...

A Dell Optiplex GX270 can have either on on-board VGA integrated graphics controller or an expansion graphics controller. If an expansion card is installed, the onboard graphics is disabled.

So first, ensure that the VGA cable is connected to the correct graphics connection (If there is an expansion slot with a video connector, ten you must use that connection)

If connected to the correct port on the system, next ensure that the input select for the monitor is either set to autoselect or ANALOG

Last ensure that the display resolution of the graphics adapter will support the new monitor.

AMW 19" LCD Monitor

go to NVDIA web site download the latest driver.
you need at least 32bit color to setup the monitor.
the 8-bit color is a default, that is why the monitor alway return to default size which is 800x600.
19" monitor should have minimum of 1280x1024 with 32 color.
don't up the color 256bit. the color will be off on the monitor.
