Upgrading memory on a V25 Samsung laptop

Looking at the back of the laptop it appears I will have to unscrew a number of screws to get inside and hopefully locate existing 256 RAM x 2 and replace with yet to be obtained, maximium allowed (per Crucial.com/uk), 512 RAM x 2. Do you forsee me having any problems? Appears I might have to slide hard drive, CD/DVD and battery out first. I am capable handyperson but have not taken a laptop apart yet. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

Make sure you are ONLY taking off the cover needed to change the RAM. Other screws may hold sensitive parts in place. Go to the laptops makers website and see which screws need to be removed. Its a good idea to also see if you need to change any settings in the BIOS once RAM is installed.

Blank screen

Might be the VGA connector to the motherboard.

Turn upside-down. Remove screw in the centre marked KBD.
There are 4 screws running along the back. Remove the 2 inner ones.
Lever up the keypad with a small screwdriver - Careful not to disconnect the ribbon underneath.
Undo the 3 screws along the strip above the keyboard and remove the strip.
VGA connector is next to the power button. Check it is pushed down firmly.

Samsung V25 fan replacement

It may not be the fan, I have a V25 and it was the motherboard, it wouldnt power the fans anymore when the CPU required it so would crash lots.

If the fans twitch or run for a second or two when you first turn the laptop on then it's the motherboard that is faulty.

Careful with the monitor to motherboard plug as I damaged mine and the screen is now a permanent shade of blue.

Samsung V25 Laptop When it is powered up nothing is showing on the screen although the power light is on and you can hear a noise. This has happened before and it just came on.

One way to make sure the system is still working, remove the Batery, then plug the power adapter only and turn the computer back on, normally if the laptop goes into Hybernation mode and the battery is low on power this can happen. If that fixes the system then you can do a safe shutdown and re-install the battery and turn your laptop on and it should come on, the fact that you mentioned this has happened before makes me believe it is Hybernation issue. Good Luck.
