Your TV's program rating, also known as parental lockout, is active and set for TV-14 Your set will block any programs broadcasted with this or a higher rating. You need to enter your menues and find the one related to the rating guide. This menu also has a password, usually 4 digits to gain access. You need to change the rating or disable the lockout. I accidentally set "protected program by TV-14'. Can you tell me how to turn it off?

I'm guessing at this, is TV-G a TV guide on your TV? Have you checked the MENU option or the TOOLS option on your remote?

walmart sells a ge universal remote in the check out it is a three in one remote. for five bucks. it does everything i own. except a twenty five year old tv. it will even access the menus on my ac unit.

check it out. you may have to use the manual program mode on the thing but it will probaly work

Our TV Sylvania blocks some progrfams on ch. 51
Go to the TV setup menu and look for the V-Chip settings. Turn it off altogether or if you have children you may want to just raise the block up to MA, R, or X rated programs

Channels blocked
Hello to all, go to your TV menu and go to V-chip set up, then go thru and see that you don't have any channels blocked. If you do and you are watching a show with that rating, you will receive the "protected program message".

Go into Menu /V Chip arrow key up to tv rating should show all locked volume down or visversa should should view all Note may have to volume up to get to options from menu depending on how old the tv is.
