    I HAD A PROBLEM YESTERDAY BUT I MANAGED TO REGISTER MY ARCHOS 405 DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER.NOW IVE GOT ARCHOS DVR STATION GEN 5.I CAN NOT REGISTER IT TO BE ABLE TO GET ON TV AND I CANT REMEMBER MY PASSWORD.

    405 epg not downloading had to reboot 405 now will not let me register 405 machine is telling me to do this archos engineers reading off paperwork dont no what to do

Hi fiona

I had the same problem as the archos web site is not the easiest to navigate.Have you actualy registered the product yet ?if so once logged in add your device as a product,on my products click on the picture of the 405 and that will take you to the screen for downloading archoslink (software to install the tv guide) and to the subscription page for down loading the tv guide.

How ever i have done all this and although i can download the guide i cannot sync it to my 405 so still unable to record off tv....Email gone to archos so fingers crossed....

I cannot get my archos to show me the menu screen

    On QVC they showed it so easy to use bam bam bam . I should have known that if it looked so easy there would be a problem. I am so annoyed and fed up. Also the internet what really is its function? You write your problem and post it but you are left with no solution, They are leaving it up to the internet users to solve their own problems. What a load of cobblers. Unbelieveable. Tell me how is this helping me with my problems. My archos 405 is still not working and I am still mad and frustrated.

Copy and paste the files into the Music folder once you have connected the 405 to the PC via USB and set it in PC mode. Please read the downloadable pdf user guide in ARCHOS main page.

Tv program guide will not update when connected through my dvr
The TV Program Guide is actually controlled by a 3rd party.
I registered my Archos at Archos.com when I bought it......I'm not sure how you'd stand with a 2nd hand one.
Basically, the website tells me that I only have 82 days left to my TV Program Guide 'subscription' and if I want it for another year, I have to pay £14.90GBP!
However, I can tell you that the Program Guide is pretty rubbish. All it does is let you record the SAME channel that your TV is showing. It does not record a different channel if you want to watch something else and if the TV is switched off, it doesn't record at all!!
Reading the manuals and the reviews on the Archos website, I was led to believe that it would do all of the above, but when I tried to get help from Archos Support, they basically told me that it doesn't do any of that!!
As much as it p'd me off, that is the only flaw I have found in the Archos and the other things it can do are quite amazing.
Try searching for 'Archos Forum' and check out some of the features - it is a remarkable machine!

hi i found my own soulution for recording i will tell you an easy way fist of all you need another freeview box only connect this to your archos and have the other box connected like normal to your tv and place your archos and other box near your tv buy a 2 way splitter from wilkinsons and connect this where your ariel box is probably near the window and get another tv lead to reach your freeview box for the archos this means you have a connection running from the tv box for your normal tv and f box and another for the archos and f box cos of the 2 way splitter you can then record on the archos from the f box and watch another channel on your tv then playback later what you recorded of your archos on your big tv please let me know if you sort this and let me no if you get stuck its great when you get it all set up and it works thanks.

Cannot register my product,it tells me serial number invalid.
You will have to contact Archos customer support in this regard. Unfortunately, there is nothing else we can do from our end.

ARCHOS 605 WiFi - 120GB TV guide problem
I had the same problem as you, after hours of browsing the frustrating archos website i simply deleted all the products from my account and then re-registered them. Turned out I'd simply put the serial number of my 605 incorrectly. Once re-registered, the tv-guide came up on my archos link software and updated it. Don't be too pleased though, when I did this about 98% of the channels just had "no information available" displayed on them on my Archos. Can anyone solve that?
