The grind is too coarse or you grinder has seperated inside. Pull the lever below the grinder towards the front of the machine, but only when it is grinding. Then after the 3 coffee's, see if there was a change. If no change its your grinder.

Breville touch espresso is making weak espresso. How can I adjust to make stronger coffee.

Most likely the bean is weak. It helps to increase the grade of grinding by the button on the top. If you put it to a finer grade, the coffee will taste stronger. However it can become a little sour.

How can I avoid bitter coffee?

If the water that comes into contact with the coffee grounds is too hot, you will extract bitter elements from the coffee. The water should not be boiling when poured on the coffee grounds. Coffee oils, fats and sediment are the natural parts of the coffee bean that causes bitterness by forming as the brew ages. The longer the coffee sits the stronger it tastes.

My brand new Bunn BX... despite following exact measuring for the perfect cup of coffee, and trying various stronger measurements, my coffee comes out tasting like water. When I look at the grounds after...

It sounds like you might be missing your sprayhead. If you remove the filter basket and look up above it, there should be a dome piece with 5 holes in it. If not, please call customer service with the model and date code and we can provide you with a new sprayhead.

Coffee not tasting good

To make the self-clean light go off, just unplug the coffeemaker for longer than 20 minutes. As far as not tasting right, did you try flushing the vinegar out of the coffeemaker using plain water, or water mixed with 1 tbsp lemon juice per cup? Also, get rid of your current charcoal water filter - after time, it will disintegrate, and your coffee will have a hint of charcoal.

Coffee tastes like metal

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COFFEE. This has to do with water filter system and most importantly descaling of machine, as over time the metals in side machine and tubing get a mold type build up. Its a chemical reaction from the water and tubing and the coffee and metals. To 100% solve this, descale the machine with water and vinegar mixed. Do this a couple of times and use bottled water to fill water tank if you do not have a good water filter tap system. I have been the espresso business for over 16 years with 4 locations, and it has nothing to do with the coffee. If it was the coffee or poor coffee it would tasted burned or bitter, but NOT tasting like metal.

No coffee will dispenses

Hi, We had a similar problem and it turns out the beans we were using were too oily and clogging up the works. We solved it by using a slightly more coarse grind (and brewing a stronger cup), and by buying only the best beans (oily beans don't make coffee stronger, just means they aren't good beans and by roasting longer can make the coffee taste stronger). Try Barefoot Coffee Roasters (I don't work for them, just love their coffee). We also use the cleaning tablet more often than prompted, and clean the inside of the flap when we dump the grinds. Good luck. Great coffee, but finicky machine!
